I have 2 neighbors….One is training his Pit Bull to be AGGRESSIVE & that is like having a loaded gun as a pet & I don’t think there is ANYTHING I can do about it…..
The other one is a young Beagle, tied to a tree, barely fed or watered (except by me) & gets BEATEN (I can see & hear it) at night but barks all day!!!!
I’m doing my best to help the Beagle but the Pit….I don’t know what I can do, The owner denies he is doing anything wrong – The pit barks ALL DAY too!!!
Why don’t they care??? Any tips???

this is a horrible situation but have to say if you really think these people are hurting their dog call your local SPCA.
call the shelter or the cops. animal abuse is against the law!!!
Call animal control and have em picked up. Call the cops so the guy gets tickets for the noise as well.

I would call animal control and tell them about both cases. In many states now it is illegal to leave a dog tied out. The Pitbull is going to hurt someone.. You being the closest one, you are likely first on his list!
That or I would move!
People are pretty stupid sometimes.. They haven’t a clue how to take care of a pet. You know that first hand, you have 2 crappy pet owning neighbours!
I am a huge dog lover, have 2 of them myself. I **** constant dog barking! It’s annoying and it can be stopped in a healthy way through training.
If the dog is being abused, it is your job to call the SPCA, Humane Society, or any local animal shelter. Let them know it is being abused and neglected. That just disgusts me. I’m sure the owner doesn’t go for days waiting to eat or drink.
As far as the Pit, that’s tricky. Unless you know for sure that it is being trained to be aggressive, you are stuck. If you do know, again call the above mentioned groups.

The fact of the matter is that there are far to many uneducated people out there when it comes to animals. Some people don’t beleive animals even have rights. I feel your pain but other than taking pictures for documentation of the neglect on the beagle I can’t really help you. The pitbull thing is rediculous , this poor breed gets abused in so many different ways that it’s not even close to funny.
The only thing you could do is to contact the police and local SPCA. Trust me your doing the right thing. These animals deserve better. good luck
The loaded gun is safer, firearms do not attack on there own. If there is documental evidence of neglect notify the SPCA. If there is a noise ordinance in your area notifiy the cops.
animal abuse is against the law. The cops have to investigate the aggression of pitt.Arrogance!
First off check with your local city regarding pet regulations. Some cities require Pit Bulls to be in an enclosure or on a certain gauge chain. Also look for signs of the dog fighting. Maybe your neighbour is using the poor thing as a fighter.
As for the Beagle….hmmmmm I am sure someone would love to have a sweet Beagle? Someone in another town? I mean if it is only on a rope or cord, they DO break if you get my drift….:) You know the oddest thing, most humane societies in other counties take dogs when they have been “found on the side of the road”…..:) Sometimes we have to follow our heart and conscience and just do the right thing by the animal.
It is hell living next door to bad neighbours. Darned if you do and darned if you don’t situation. I would report them to the local humane officers…and KEEP reporting them until they do something. If the neighbours harass you, report them too. Enough times and they will get a free stay at the local grey bar hotel.
Why people don’t care is still a mystery even to most shrinks. Simple answer is, they don’t place an emotional value on animals. They have NO heart vested in the care and love of them. They are probably failed bullies so they bully dogs because they are defenceless.
Move and take the beagle with you.

as for the pit well check your city laws and decide cause he is a bad nieghbor and if you live alone you might not be able to deal with his anger when they tell him who did it do you have a neghborhood watch go to a meeting and see what they think sometimes if three or four call in the do not bother with giving the names they just said we had lots of calls and the nieghbor want the dogs quiet and if the dog is mean when the cops come out or who ever they will deal with that right then cause they are getting the bite
Call animal control and they will confiscate the animals! They are breaking laws by keeping the dog tied with no food or wate and by beating it. They may not be able to prove they are training the pit to be mean and aggressive but they can probably confiscate the dog for not properly taking care of it.
For the beagle break out your camcorder and tape the beatings as well as no food and water and then call the police and animal control.Show them the tape they’ll have to do something.
If not as you have access to the dog find him a new home and help him get there.
As for the pit there’s little you can do as long as it’s well cared for.
With any luck it will turn on it’s owner before it does anyone else.
