Dog Costume Contest Helps Valley Animals

CHANDLER, AZ – This Halloween, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is hoping to receive a financial “treat” during a dog costume-party fundraiser. The “trick” will be finding your pet something to wear.

The event, which takes place October 22 at Dos Gringos in Chandler, offers contests, prizes, and an opportunity to adopt an animal. The restaurant is located at 1361 N. Alma School Road in Chandler.

According to event organizers, pets adopted during the Dos Gringos Howl-O-Ween event will be spayed or neutered and vaccinated.

Dogs or their owners also will have an opportunity to participate in a pie-eating contest, fastest tail wagging contest, costume contest, and a look-alike contest. The pets must be well behaved, on a leash, and have current vaccinations.

The restaurant is also offering lunch specials, including a meal for the dog.
