You Get to Choose Your Health Care? Really?

Well sort of. Title 1 section 102 Protecting the choice to keep current coverage. This section states very clearly that as of the first day of the first year of the government health care coverage, you will no longer be able to enroll in employer based coverage. You will be required to take the Government coverage.

throughout the bill they refer to your existing coverage being “grandfathered” what this term means is..well lets say you live in an apartment, and you have a dog. New ownership takes over the apartment. And they decide no dogs. People who already had dogs and are still in their lease are “Grandfathered” through the term of the lease. At the end of the lease, you either have to move out or get rid of the dog. Same principle applies here. If you move jobs, or at any point lose your health care, you must go to the government health plan. Or if you start on the Government health plan, and then decide you want what your employer offers, to bad, you cant get it.
Hater police, No you don’t. You can only keep your employer based, if you have it on the first day of Year one of the enactment of this bill. That is not choice. It is simply delayed slow moving control. it means your children will have no choice. Your grand children will have no choice.
Check out the link, notice the constant references to “The Commsioner” one could argue that they are not talking about some kind of health care czar, however they make very clear references to the insurance issuer. So basically what you are telling me is some guy in washington will have ultimate authority over my health care coverage? what could possibly go wrong there?
Amber rose: seriously don’t worry about it? Your joking right? The “Don’t worry about it” mentality is what led to this mess in the first place. People need to take action they work for us you know. We need to call our representatives and tell them NO. Inaction=death.;

    Yes. You do.

    You need to take a reading comprehension course.

    An excellent Idea. The cost should be included in income taxes, instead of a set monthly fee for each individual because some individuals will fall in the gap between government paid premiums and being able to afford the premium themself.

  4. SmooveB says:

    Not really. You can keep your current coverage through your employer, but if you ever change jobs, lose your job, etc. you can not get new private coverage-you go on the government plan.

    Since the average person has over 10 jobs during his or her career, this is no “choice” at all and is worthless.

    Yeah, Pelosi and Obama are not talking about the fine print they are going for the Bait and Switch method instead. They are going to only talk about the deceptive good points and then pull the rug out from under the voters once passed. This bill will lead to a cluster f*ck of the health care system with millions of job losses and essentially everyone will end up on rationed health care.

  6. John gibson @foxnews.crap says:

    has that bill passed,no it hasnt ,so you can choose really,speaking of choice i get a book from my insurance company that tells what doctors you can us what hospitals you can use ,so do you have choice now?

    It may not even pass so don’t worry about it.

    WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama’s push to overhaul health care needs Republican votes, lawmakers from both parties say.

    Democratic and GOP officials acknowledged Sunday that Obama’s ambitious plan would not pass without the aid of a doubtful GOP, whose members are almost united against the White House effort.

    “Look, there are not the votes for Democrats to do this just on our side of the aisle,” said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., the chairman of the budget committee.

    Rep. Jim Cooper, a Tennessee Democrat and a member of the fiscally conservative “Blue Dogs,” said he doubts the Democratic-controlled House could pass a proposal as it’s drafted now.

    “We have a long way to go,” Cooper said.

    House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, however, insisted she has the votes to move forward with the plan despite concerns among fiscally conservative fellow Democrats.

    “When I take this bill to the floor, it will win. We will move forward, it will happen,” said Pelosi, D-Calif.

    Not so fast, Republicans said. Sensing a public uneasiness over the pace and price tag of the overhaul, Republicans said the longer the delay, the more the public understands the stakes of a policy that has vexed lawmakers for decades

    Obama wants to force as many people on the government health care plan as he can and I don’t like it at all. This is all about control too bad more people don’t see what his plans really are for us.

    the sheep actually believe this. he is telling them different but they don;t listen,

    And then there is this;

    If a company plans to remain competitive, they can not be the last one’s to switch to the ‘cheaper’ government plan or they will be priced out of existence.

    Yes, you can keep your present plan but, you must pay the entire premium. Even if the premium is lowered through regulation, what you’ll pay will still be more than what you and your employer paid together and it will be more than you can afford.

    You will have to drop that coverage and take the government plan or pay a $2.500 fine if you are earning less than $56,000.00 anually. If you earn more than $56,000.00 you will also pay a premium fee (tax) to the government because it will be deemed a luxury plan (you’re rich). If you negotiate a deal where the company pays some or all of that plan, you will pay tax on it as regular income, unless you are in a union.

    Have you gotten to the part that focuses on the money side? No employer will offer insurance due to cost.

    Nobody will want to be taxed and then pay additionally for another insurer.

    Nobody will want the kind of care offered.

    AHHHHRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! You people F********d us!

  12. tribeca_belle says:

    Read Section 102 again. The Exchange includes both the private insurers and the public option. You get to choose among the private insurers or to choose the public option.

    I am not sure what you are trying to prove but your conclusion is not based on the language in the bill.
