Buy a Pet License in Sacramento County Saturday, Get Free Rabies Vaccination for Dog or Cat

Free rabies vaccinations will be available if a dog or cat owner buys a pet license Saturday.

The vaccinations will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at nine locations. Low-cost microchipping to identify animals is also available at most of the locations.

City of Sacramento residents whose pets are not spayed or neutered may get a free rabies vaccination and will be given a voucher for a free license and microchip at the city animal shelter if they submit proof of spay or neuter within 60 days of the shot clinic.

According to the Sacramento County Animal Services, here is the schedule for shot clinics:

• Sacramento area: County Animal Care and Regulation, 3839 Bradshaw Road; City Animal Care Services, 2127 Front St.; Sacramento SPCA, 6201 Florin Perkins Road.

• Citrus Heights: C-Bar-C Dog Park, 8275 Oak Ave.; City Hall, 6237 Fountain Square Drive.

• Elk Grove: Kittel Family Veterinary Practice, 8153 Elk Grove Blvd., Suite. 30.

• Folsom: Blue Ravine Animal Hospital, 1770 Prairie City Road (extended hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

• Rancho Cordova: Neighborhood Center, 2880 Gold Tailings Court.

• Auburn: Placer County Animal Services, 11251 B Ave.
