DS: Best Dog Food for a 10month Old RT With a Sensitive Tummy?

Hello DS,
Its been awhile since ive been on. Ive been dealing with an issue that happend 2 weeks ago. My 10 month old rat terrier had a accident inside his kennel. Runny stool EVERYWHERE! At 4:30 am in the morning. Three weeks ago we began feeding him Natures Variety Prairie chicken and rice formula. He loved it in the beginning and now I find him pooping up to 7-8 times a day if not more. I have to get up in the middle of the night and take him out aswell. The **** is often runny or very soft. Has this ever happend to your dogs with this food brand? We’ve been researching and found the company had a recall several months back but our food UPC wasnt listed. Maybe it could’ve been exposed? Anyways we are going to get different pet food and I was wondering what is best for a dog with a sensitive stomach and sensitive skin? The vets recommend science diet or hills but those foods are crap from what I’ve experienced. Also I am am not able to get solid gold dog foods.
Thank you for all your help in making my baby better,
Razzy
My dog has never eaten his own stool, thank you very much.
I will not succumb to your immature attitude.

You think a freaking dog cares what he eats? They eat their own **** for crying out loud.

I have seen many canine and feline lives change by using SD or Hills medicated foods. I have also watched these same foods reduce and stop the symptoms of numerous diseases. It doesn’t sound like you actually have any experience with them at all. Most people just don’t want to pay the extra money for the food their pets need, and so they stick with their Iam and such and the animal continues to be unwell. You need to purchase Medical HypoGastro for your poor puppy. However if it were my dog it would still be on puppy food at 10 months old

Look at the label on Science Diet, it’s nothing more than over priced corn and other crap. Try Wellness Super 5 mix. No corn, wheat, by products or any filler garbage. Try to get it at a local store as it is very expensive at Petco and Petsmart. It’s over $15 for a 6 lb bag there, but I pay $10.39 for that same bag at a local feed store. I have a rat terrier/JRT/ beagle mix with runny **** before I gave him this. Hope your baby feels better soon.

I realise you are not in the UK (?) but I’ve been having an ongoing battle with my young Basset, ever since he was first diagnosed with Giardia. I’ve had him on Arden Grange Sensitive food, for about 6 weeks now, and almost immediately his stools firmed up and are normal. This is a diet made of Haddock and Potato (basically). Something similar, if you can find it, might do the trick. Before I put him onto this, I tried cooking up Coley and mashed potato, to see if there was any improvement. There was!! This food is fairly expensive, in the scheme of things, but if it keeps him away from the vet’s office, I’m prepared to pay over the odds!!
